A Much Needed Break At NAAD WELLNESS For A Sound You!

So many times in the last couple of years I’ve taken to social media to highlight the importance of our “overall wellbeing” and that includes a sound body and mind equally. Many a time we only consider physical well being but we conveniently ignore our spiritual growth. Inner vibrations are like a melody of our soul which creates magic once it’s in sync with our body! When I came across Naad Wellness “Disconnect, Heal, Reconnect” video on YouTube, I was certain that I’ll be visiting this place with my better half, Salman.

Both of us have always given importance to healthy breaks from work as constantly being on the move and working round the clock can really take a toll on your mental and physical health. And in our line of work, at times we end up working till 2 or 3 a.m. without realizing the adverse effects it has on our health and beyond a regular sleeping hour, if we stay up late our body releases hormones that help us stay awake but in the long run cause more harm than we know. I’ve seen both my grandparents live a long, healthy and fulfilling life till they turned 94 and if I observe their lives now, it was so simple yet full of discipline. They had an early dinner and early to bed schedule and they avoided sweets in the night and they also woke up before sunrise to some warm-up exercises. I read up online about Naad Wellness similar holistic approach to the overall wellbeing of a person and how through the medium of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy one can fix a lot of their bad lifestyle induced problems in easy steps.

When we give our body and mind the break that it deserves and keep one time every day for our work to be logged out of our minds, we then discover the joy of getting to know oneself on a spiritual level. It is only during one of your holidays you’ll discover your hidden talent or days that are your off days will charge you up for the working week that lies ahead. So consciously allow yourself to heal from within, be mindful of what you put in your body, exercise whenever you get free time and be grateful for every small blessing that comes your way. These small practices indeed go a long way, trust me!

NAAD Wellness Location

Naad Wellness is situated just 1 hour 45 minutes away from Delhi airport as it is right on the outskirts of Delhi. Early morning flights will be your best bets to beat the Delhi traffic. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by their welcome ritual of cleaning hands and tilak followed by a rudraksh mala around your neck. These beads (rudraksh mala) are considered to be a powerful energy cloud. In Sanskrit, Rudraksh means eyes of Lord Shiva and it also symbolizes “under the protection of Lord Rudra” in Hinduism. After enjoying our refreshing welcome drink, we checked into our 50 sq mt. “Royal Suite” that comes with its own private deck, garden views and an ensuite bathroom.

I would like to say a big thank you to Dr. Deepti MS who is a Naturopathy doctor and under her guidance, my cold and sinus were miraculously at bay merely by following the right diet and sleeping on time. I love how well they have combined the 5,000+ years secrets and traditions of our culture through Ayurveda for an internal cleansing that results in a healthier you. During our stay, we opted for various Ayurvedic massages that were recommended for us by the Doctors that are so therapeutic too. My favorite was their Balinese and Swedish massage.

The first thing we did every morning was an “oil pulling session” using sesame oil which is a simple step of swirling the oil in your mouth for 15 minutes. This is an age-old practice that promotes oral health. I have realized how nature presents us with solutions as the “kriyas” that I learned at Naad help me even now when I’m back to my city life. For example, pouring lukewarm water from one nostril while you breathe from your mouth, is known to help you with your breathing, cold, cough or sinus-related problems (PLEASE NOTE – This needs to be done under a trained professional or a yogi).

After this, we used to proceed for Yoga sessions held under the supervision of a trained teacher who also is extremely famous for aerial yoga. I cannot thank Naad Wellness enough for giving me a newfound belief in Naturopathy.  India’s ancient Vedic texts also have a mention of Naturopathy and it’s core belief is that our bodies possess the vital energies required in internal healing and all their cures are nature-based.

They also have a reflexology track where even 10-20 minutes of walking equals to an hour of reflexology foot massage because here you are walking on the round stones with an optimum pressure on your feet of your natural body weight.  This is extremely relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time. Did I mention about their Himalayan Salt Cave? You have the option of opting for the private solo room or the bigger one to go experience it with a +1.

NAAD Wellness

This is a one of a kind experience in India as the Himalayan Salt Air helps stimulate the respiratory system’s natural ability to reduce inflammation, fights of infections and helps people suffering from asthma, bronchitis, many different kinds of allergies or coughs. Another hot favorite of the two of us was their Turkish Hamam which is again an experience you cannot miss out on.

Since they also take physical fitness very seriously, these are the various recreational activities they offer – a fully functional Fitness Centre, Open Air Tennis Court, a Badminton Court, A Mini Golf, Night Golf and a temperature-controlled Swimming Pool. Isn’t that cool.

Another personal favorite of the boy was their plunge pool aka a jacuzzi with your own radio which was adjoining our Royal Suite.

They also produce so many herbs and veggies and fruits in their gardens, you’ll know what I mean when you taste their food.

All meals are served at Ahara which is their vegan restaurant on the ground floor. Right from the staff to the teachers, doctors and every other employee are so helpful and full of warmth.

Naad Wellness is a treat that you would offer for your mind, body and soul!!!!  We came back so connected to our inner selves and happy and relaxed and we promised ourselves to continue these habits that we picked from Naad Wellness even in our cray-cray routine. I know it’s not gonna be easy, but taking time for ourselves, taking breaks from work and sleeping on time is the least we all can do for a sound body and mind!! I will end this article by saying – LISTEN TO YOUR BODIES!!!! <3
