Back to My Love for Indian Dresses!!!

My earlier post on Indian look, was more of a sober everyday outfit. In this look I decided to go a little bolder with the deep blue colour and zari work. This season for all those who have been following me and my blog, know by now that Lapiz & electric blue colours have been ruling the fashion world. This Lakme fashion week also saw some hues of earthy shades, nude colours combined with netted patterns.

I’ve tried to bring to you the best of both worlds with this one look of mine. The Zari work on the upper body gives a very unique fit and it also distinguishes the rest of the anarkali dress. The anarkali flair has a thick zari border right below to again bring out the contrasts. Little addition of velvet border right at the end again with thin zari work on it.

My favourite part of this outfit, other than the anarkali flair, are the nude netted sleeves which again have the same colour net work.. The fairer you are, the more it merges in your skin. The lacy V-Neckline highlights the leafy gold lace. One tip – When your opting for a bold colour, make sure you keep the same colour for the churidaar or salwar too. You can go as heavier and bolder with the work and it still won’t look over the top.

Since the overall look was heavy, I have kept my make up to the bare minimal. With just glossy Nuon pink lipstick, slight mascara and blush on my cheeks. Those ocean blue, semi stones touchdown earrings are a must have and can be used on western outfits too.

Another helpful tip – In these dry summers if you’ve got a wedding or party to attend and you opt for a heavy indian dress, keep in mind to keep your make-up very simple. It’ll do wonders for your look overall.

Don’t forget to add those bangles or Kadas on your wrists. I have opted for a simple pair of diamond studded golden bangles with a choice of sandals that are slightly not the obvious choice. Tried to combine it with golden wedge heels and it does wonders to my posture, look & brings out the Indian Beauty!!!!

Try various combinations & don’t stick to the obvious options.
