Dil waali Delhi is frequently visited by both Salman and I. Mostly for work, shoots or events since the Mumbai-Delhi flights are so quick, convenient and we can easily hop-skip back to the bay once the event or our work is done at the end of the day. Delhi also happens to be our favorite destination when it comes to visiting our favorite hilly regions in the country (and let’s face it, we travel a lot to the hills), right from Nainital to Mussoorie, Ooty to Shimla and more. All our hills getaways have a staycation or a quick pit stop in Delhi since traveling to the mountains is just a drive away from the capital and also is very easily connected by railways. This time around, we had planned a getaway to Nainital in Uttarakhand, where we stayed at “Parvada Bungalows” and on our way back we decided to spend a day and a half along with a night stay at Le, Meridien in New Delhi.
You can read all about our Nainital, Uttarakhand homestay experience here in case you missed out on that article.
We got asked a lot on our Instagram stories about the overall experience of our Le Meridien, New Delhi staycation, so I decided to mention some of our personal favorite highlights for you all in a detailed blog post. So here’s our staycation experience with Le Meridien, New Delhi :
Location – This hotel is right in the heart of New Delhi and this is one of the main reasons why it needs to be on your list for staycations, holidays or business trips. The location is extremely close to Vigyan Bhavan and Jantar Mantar which is also known amongst the locals as the Indian Times Square.
It is also close to two more well-known destinations of New Delhi: Pragati Maidan which is a world-class exhibition venue that was established for Asian games and events and India Gate – the most important and a popular monument of the capital that was built as a memorial in commemoration of more than 80,000 Indian soldiers that were killed in the World War One.
Rooms – They have a total of 358 aesthetically designed guest rooms that are super spacious and are packed with all the amenities one can dream of in a 5-star facility. I particularly love how each and every room looks over the well decorated and lit lobby and the glass-elevators space.
Right from designer toiletries, deep soaking bathtubs, spacious bathrooms, minibars, LCD television sets, internet connections, safes, and so many more facilities are available for guests to enjoy a luxurious experience. Plus, who doesn’t love a personalized welcome right? It was so thoughtful of the team to welcome us in such a sweet way!
Buffet At The One – This is their fine dining, a continental restaurant that is open 24×7 on all days starting with breakfast early in the morning. This is located right on the left side once you step inside the lobby.
Their breakfast buffet spread boats of such vast cuisines and we both loved their chocolate pancakes and waffles the most. There were also so many Indian options too and it is totally a value for money if we may.
Café At 4 Experience – This is a new addition in Le Meridien, New Delhi’s list of restaurants. You can easily find me in one of its cozy corners with my favorite book. Their minimalistic décor is oh so chic, inviting and this cafe serves some of the yummiest yet healthiest dishes as this is their main USP.
Thanks to Café At 4, your go-to comfort food is now served with a twist. So gear up to indulge guilt-free with some quick healthy bites. Our recommendations – make sure to try their detox special avocado, chia seeds, spinach smoothie along with their super healthy wellness bowls.
24 Hour Reception – Le Meridien, New Delhi gets full marks when it comes to hospitality and their ever smiling and helpful staff. Their 24-hour reception desk will be available to assist you any time of the day or night which is surely an added bonus.
Pick Up & Drop Facilities – We informed the team just few hours prior to our departure about our airport drop requirement and they promptly arranged one for us. This was so imperative for a happy ending to this trip and we were so happy with their services. They also had arranged for 2 water bottles in the car, 2 cold towels, wet wipes, etc that are such important personal touches that makes you feel special.
Leisure – Out of all the activities available at this hotel, we particularly loved their Outdoor Swimming pool (wish we had more time to jump in it though) and their spacious outdoor garden area which can be seen from The One Restaurant while you enjoy your brekkie.
Salman and I have come up with a “creative break” system where we make sure we take regular breaks at least once a month, so that we don’t overwhelm ourselves with non stop work or work trips. And this small staycation was one such healthy break that we both needed for our minds and bodies. It’s crazy what a small staycation can do to put your mind at ease and re-charge you just in the right spirit for the upcoming week or month. After all, the experience matters, the time you spend with your loved one matters and that’s exactly where choices like Le Meridien, New Delhi matter with a value addition that they bring along with their services. A special thank you to the entire team of this hotel that made our stay super special and comfy.
Until we see you again DELHI…..
